The Director of Operations at ELITE Transit Solutions is a true jack-of-all-trades! Cody oversees multiple departments with acute attention to detail and unrivaled discipline. He has single-handedly set the precedent for how operational systems fit within ELITE. Cody has taken the best operating strategies of internal leaders and made them standard procedure. From tracking and tracing to significant escalations, Cody pioneered our procedures to make them more efficient and maximize their results. On a daily basis, Cody is keeping an eye on escalations, ensuring the best possible customer service and confidently coaching his team to excellence. Cody is a champion for team members with bold, innovative ideas. He’s a thoughtful leader that encourages the best work from everyone.

What achievements, initiatives, awards, leadership roles, etc. has the nominee accomplished over the past 12 months? Please describe the impact or results of those initiatives with as much specificity as possible. (required):
Over the past six months, Cody has led the charge of our recent organizational change as Director of Operations. Our internal structure went through a significant re-organization, doubling Cody’s direct reports. Throughout this change, Cody is the first one to notice flaws and jumps into action to correct them. Without his keen guidance and calm demeanor, our pain points would’ve hurt harder and lasted longer. His attention to detail and clear communication makes every operational shift run smoothly. His direct reports are consistently on the same page, guiding their own teams effectively and being champions for company morale. It’s easy to the positive trickle-down effect of his leadership.

What are some things the nominee does or supports to help heal the supply chain? (required):
Anyone who has worked in logistics for a period of time understands this industry is built on relationships. Cody works endlessly to maintain ELITE’s relationships at every level. He stresses the importance of customer relationships, working through the tough times with transparency and true grit. He encourages employee relationships with carriers, understanding that our business relies on our relationships with every level of operator. Cody is a straightforward person. He supports those around him be honestly working toward the best solution and getting the best from each party involved.

What has the nominee done in the past 12 months to promote workforce development in the global supply chain? Please provide specific examples. (required):
In Summer 2022, Cody spearheaded and managed the day-to-day of ELITE first Summer Internship program. Twelve college interns joined the ranks of ELITE for a comprehensive internship program that ushered them through every department at ELITE for a well-rounded educational experience. Each intern spent one week in every department, followed by several weeks in their preferred specialization. Throughout the Summer, they were quizzed and challenged in knowledge learned. It was paramount to Cody that this was not a plug-and-play internship but a truly educational time that would better prefer each young person for a career in the supply chain space. Every single intern gave their ELITE experience a glowing review and 80% reached out for employment opportunities after graduation. With the promise of expanding the internship program to each office in 2023, Cody is an excellent caretaker of future supply chain professionals.

Do you have any closing remarks about the nominee and their contribution to your company and the supply chain?

The reason I’m typing this, the reason I think Cody is so worthy of this award is because his is endlessly eager to improve. Yes, he is motivated for himself, his team and the company to succeed. But he’s motivated to improve his character, his leadership and his communication with every opportunity. He constructively disagrees (with me and others) but is always working toward a solution. He’s a great coworker because he wants what’s best for everyone. His desire to be better makes me want to be better and I know that’s true of many others at ELITE.
